THEME: Why the African Continental Free Trade Agreement is
key to unlocking Digital Opportunities for Women
AWIDL Series, is a series of forums and Masterclasses that focus on build the right skills and acquiring new capabilities to lead and manage in the digital era. It encourages collaboration when solving social and business problem leveraging digital technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Cloud Computing. Digital technology can drive innovation, economic growth and job creation in many key sectors of the economy, and allows for greater interconnection of African markets with one another and with the rest of the world.
The next AWIDL will be held on the 3rd of April 2020, themed: Why the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) is key to unlocking digital opportunities for women. One of the opportunities presented in the free trade agreement is going digital and telecommunications.
Therein lies the opportunity for women to participate and help each other grow. The focus will be unpacking opportunities in digital and how women can participate. Furthermore, connect women to form consortiums and leverage opportunities presented by AfCFTA.
The objective of the session is to demystify the AfCFTA, and share opportunities for women in digital and business, and ensure that they leverage all opportunities presented by the trade agreement
